Ashton is a Human and Health Performance major with a Psychology minor at Oklahoma Baptist University. She hails from Pilot Point, Texas and is so excited to be traveling to Iowa to join us this summer at Camp Wyoming. She’s definitely a fan of the outdoors, and loves hiking, hammocking, and anything to do with being outside. She also loves going camping and has gone many times with her family. She spent many summers as a child and youth going to different camps with her church, and she also worked for the past two summers at a camp in Texas. She says, “I love everything about camp! I can’t imagine a better way to spend my summer!!”
Ashton is definitely a fan of coffee. You could say that she drinks quite a lot of it…she has anywhere between six to eight cups a day! She’s also a fan of Christmas and wishes that it could be Christmas time year round. She claims, “I can quote nearly any Christmas movie, I own priceless Christmas sweaters, and you can catch me listening to Christmas music regardless of what month it is.” Ashton’s favorite way to connect with God is by journaling and through intentional, Godly conversations with others- usually over a cup of coffee of course.
When looking forward to this summer, Ashton says, “I’m so excited to have the opportunity to interact and invest in so many campers’ lives while having fun and talking about Jesus! I’m praying that the Lord moves in mighty ways this summer in the lives of every camper! I can’t wait to see what the campers will teach me, and I hope I can teach them a little something while also giving them the best camp experience possible!”
Ashton’s favorite Bible verse is Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
