Bill has been a long-time camper at Camp Wyoming (coming ever since You & Me camp when he came for a weekend with his parents), and he is joining us this year for his third summer on staff. Bill is a freshman at the University of Iowa studying Elementary Education. Around camp, Bill is known for his positive energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to get involved and have lots of fun. Whether it’s getting covered in mud at the creek, getting doused in paint during paint wars, or speeding across Frog Pond in a kayak, Bill is always having fun and diving in to activities head first!
In his free time, Bill likes to spend time with friends, play sports, and be active. He plays basketball and ultimate Frisbee and used to perform in his high school’s show choir. He can be a little competitive, but he likes to have fun, too! Bill is pretty laid-back and willing to go with the flow. Bill says, “I love Camp Wyoming and it’s a lot of fun. I made so many friends last year, and I am excited to come back as a counselor this year.”
It makes sense that Bill was in choir, because his favorite way to connect to God is through singing. He especially enjoys evening worship and singing together with everyone at camp around the campfire. This summer, he says he’s most looking forward to meeting new people and growing closer to God.
Bill’s favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 18:24: “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
