Elizabeth grew up in Woodward, Iowa and is a student at the University of Northern Iowa. She is majoring in Graphic Technology as well as earning a certificate in Nonprofit Management. This summer, she will be joining us as our Marketing Coordinator! Be on the lookout for Elizabeth and her camera as she helps us capture and share the Camp Wyoming experience. While this is her first summer at Camp Wyoming, Elizabeth did grow up going to church camp as a kid. She says she loved riding horses at camp and “the campfire at the end of the week where we sang campfire songs, and told stories.”
In her free time, Elizabeth likes to go for long walks with friends. She’s also a huge fan of Disney movies and likes to volunteer at the Humane Society in Cedar Falls. She’s also pretty crafty! She likes to knit, paint, and do bracelet making. Elizabeth has a green belt in Taekwondo, which we think is pretty cool! Admittedly though, despite her awesome self-defense skills, she is strangely afraid of butterflies. She says, “While I am amazed at their beauty, and I love them, I have this weird, irrational fear of butterflies.”
Elizabeth is definitely looking forward to this summer and everything that Camp Wyoming has to offer. She says, “This summer I am super excited to meet new people, form new friendships, and grow in faith!” Her favorite ways to connect with God are through prayer, listening to music, journaling, and going for walks. We predict that she is going to love the natural setting at Camp Wyoming and the chance to worship together with the camp community around the campfire.
Elizabeth’s favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the Plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
