Jevaughny (Jev) Robinson
Jevaughny (Jev) joins the Camp Wyoming staff from Clarendon, Jamaica! He has never been to the United States before, but he is so excited about the chance to travel and work at an American summer camp. He says, “I am looking forward to meeting new people and interacting with different cultures while gaining a whole new level of fun experiences.” He can’t wait to share what he knows and learn more about God this summer as a counselor at Camp Wyoming. Plus, he says, “ I am really looking forward to trying some new activities such as archery, bubble soccer, and kayaking.”
When he was younger, Jev had the chance to attend a few different camps. He has a lot of fun memories from those experiences like playing in the nearby river and streams, hiking, nature walks, and playing with other children. Faith is very important to Jev, and he loves that he gets to experience God in new ways while he is here this summer. Personally, he feels that he connects best to God through singing, prayer and bible studies.
Jev is a student at the Vocational Training and Development Institute where he is studying drafting and building technology. Someday, he’d like to be an architect. In his free time, he likes talking walks and taking pictures. Photography is one of his favorite hobbies. He also likes to draw, paint, and play soccer. Once in awhile, he’ll also play board games or video games. The Animal Planet and History Documentaries are two of his favorite things to watch on TV.
When asked what he wanted to share with parents and campers at Camp Wyoming, Jev said, “I am really excited about getting a chance to interact with and counsel these children. I promise to do my best and always motivate and encourage them to be the best they can be in all aspects of life and to always have faith and trust in God.”
Jev’s favorite Bible passage is Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither- whatever they do prospers.”
