Kelsey is from Davenport, Iowa and is a senior at Davenport North High School. She’s been coming to Camp Wyoming ever since she was a little kid, completing our Leaders-in-Training program and even volunteering her time as a counselor when she had the chance. This summer, she’s so excited to be joining the Camp Wyoming staff. She says, “Coming to camp every summer was the highlight of my summer, and I never could wait to come back. I enjoyed making new friends, experiencing new things, and getting closer to God. My favorite thing to do as a camper was go on tubing trips and relax while just floating down the river.” One of her favorite ways to connect with God is through singing songs around the fire at camp.
One of Kelsey’s favorite things is theater. She hasn’t decided yet whether she is going to attend college at the University of Iowa or the University of Wisconsin-Madison, but she knows that she wants to double major in Theater and Journalism. In her free time, you’ll often find her backstage at her high school working on the latest show or play. She’s also got some musical talents. She’s played the violin for nine years!
When she’s not at the theater, Kelsey enjoys playing with and walking her dog, hiking, running, and reading. Of course, she also enjoys being out at Camp Wyoming. She says, “I can’t wait to meet new campers each week and watch their faith grow through the worship activities we do.”
Kelsey’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:8: “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
