Michael Ciabatti

Michael is most looking forward to “spending time in nature while serving and strengthening my faith” this summer. He is so excited to come and be a part of the Camp Wyoming staff. As a kid, he attended a camp in Rockford, Illinois, where he grew up, and he loved the experience. He says, “I hiked, sang songs, put on skits, learned about the natural world, and made lifelong friends. I’m excited to try and provide the same positive experience to campers at Camp Wyoming.”

In high school, Michael moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and currently, he is a student at Iowa State where he is studying Political Science. In his free time, he likes to play golf and ultimate Frisbee with his friends. He also enjoys watching football, listening to music, playing sand volleyball, and spending time with his family. He’s a self-described die-hard fan for all Wisconsin team sports (Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Bucks) and makes a point to always cheer for them. Michael also loves going to concerts, and he described one of his best moments of all time, saying, “My favorite band in the whole entire world is U2 and has been for as long as I can remember. In fact, one of the highlights of my life was when I saw them in concert in Chicago.”

Michael connects best to God through prayer. He says, “I especially like the deeply personal and introspective nature of prayer. It’s a time where one’s boundaries and fears can be set aside in order to praise and communicate with God.”

Michael’s favorite Bible passage is Psalm 40:1-3: “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.”
