Mitchell is getting ready to spend his fifth summer at camp and his second summer on staff! He has such a genuine and caring personality. Mitchell is always willing to lend a helping hand and make sure that everyone feels included. He is originally from Arizona, but now he lives with his parents and four siblings in Maquoketa. He is a freshman at NICC and enrolled in the nursing program. His goal is to be an RN. He is the oldest child in his family, and he stays involved at his church by helping out as a leader at his youth group. When reflecting on his experience at Camp Wyoming, Mitch says, “Camp is home. It’s very enjoyable. It’s also a chance to reflect and connect with the spiritual side of things.”
Mitchell enjoys spending his free time hanging out with his friends and playing the guitar. You’ll often see him and his guitar at the campfire during worship this summer! It’s probably no surprise that his favorite way to connect with God is through singing. When Mitchell thinks back to his previous summers at Camp Wyoming, he says that his favorite experience was his week of High School Night Owls. According to Mitchell, it was an “amazing and eye-opening experience.”
This summer, Mitchell is most looking forward to connecting with old and new friends. He’s always willing to try new things and has quite an adventurous spirit.
Mitchell’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through him who gives me strength.”
