Thomas is a student at Cornell College where he studies Chemistry and Secondary Education. He loves working with kids, which is why he is excited to be coming to Camp Wyoming this summer! He says, “I like to have fun, so the kids should be looking forward to having one of the best times of their lives when they come to camp.” In high school, Thomas had the chance to attend several camps himself, and all of them were life changing experiences for him. He understands the value of camp all too well, and he is anxious to be able to provide that same experience to the kids who come to Camp Wyoming. He says, “I am looking forward to meeting all of the campers and working with them as they grow in their faith. I am excited to share my love for outdoor activities and my enthusiasm for learning with all of the campers. Finally, I am looking forward to having an extremely fun summer at Camp Wyoming.”
Originally from Manchester, Iowa, Thomas loves to be outside whether that’s hiking, fishing, kayaking, or just enjoying nature. He also likes to read and play video games with friends. He spends a lot of his free time playing soccer for the men’s soccer team at Cornell, and he’s obviously a pretty athletic guy. He’s also played college basketball and enjoys a good game of Frisbee golf. He likes traveling to new places and going on service trips. Recently, Thomas was able to travel to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane relief in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
Thomas connects best to God through singing and prayer. He also enjoys just being in nature and enjoying looking at the beauty that God has created. We’re pretty sure that he is going to enjoy our outdoors worship services and things like walking the prayer labyrinth here at camp. Thomas is ready for a great, fun-filled summer!
Thomas’s favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11: “’For I know the plans I have for you’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
