KevinKevin Cullum - Executive Director

This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Kevin is the Executive Director for Camp Wyoming.  He arrived in April 2004 with his wife, Shelley.  Kevin and Shelley have three children: Maggie (11), Alex (7), and Sara (5); two dogs: Zoe and Dakota; and two cats: Timber and Sunny.

Kevin was born in Columbia, South Carolina and later moved to Richmond, Virginia where he spent most of his adolescent life.  He graduated with a Political Science degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.  During his summers while attending college, he worked at Camp Hanover, a Presbyterian Camp located outside of Richmond, Virginia.  After graduation, Kevin worked for a Sports Marketing Company as well as a Property Management Company in Washington, D.C.  He then altered his life journey towards a career in camping.  He became Camp Director for the Kiddie Keep Well Camp located in Edison, New Jersey.  The camp served 150 to 175 underprivileged children each week on its 13 acre site.  Kevin received “the call” from Camp Wyoming in January 2004 to return to camping ministry.  He hopes “youth have the opportunity to enjoy the experiential learning aspect of camp in a loving and supportive Christian environment.  There is nothing better than seeing a child build self-esteem as they overcome a challenge on the low ropes course or make a new lifelong friend during their time at camp.”

Kevin enjoys camping, canoeing, soccer, golf, and most other outdoor sports.  His favorite food is General Tso’s Chicken and his favorite movie is the Star Wars Saga.  In fact, rumor has it that he has a collection of Star Wars’ outfits that he wears every now and then.  So beware in case you run into “Darth Vader” the next time you visit the Camp office.

Kevin has worked with the Camp Board of Directors to set a vision for the future of Camp so that it can allow more participants, young and old, to experience the beauty of the setting and the fellowship with others.

The vision focuses on offering transformative experiences to equip people of all ages for a journey of faith through sacred space, intentional hospitality, and vibrant programs that build relationships with God, each other, and our environment.

Kevin's favorite Bible passage is Romans 12:9-13: "Love must be sincere.  Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.  Honor one another above yourselves.  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with God's people who are in need.  Practice hospitality."

A.J. is the Associate Director for Camp Wyoming.  He joined the camp staff full-time in January of 2013 after working on summer staff (6 summers!) as everything from Kitchen Assistant to Counselor to Assistant Director.  Most recently, he served as the Christian Education Director for Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  A.J. is originally from Prophetstown, Illinois, but grew up in Monticello, Iowa.  He attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a degree in Music Education, emphasis on Choral Music Education.  He and his wife, Marta, stay busy with their Bernese Mountain Dog named Trevi and cat named Papaya.

A.J. enjoys skiing, watching movies, kayaking, playing the piano, singing, and performing.  He can often be heard around the office saying, “I was watching a TED talk the other day…”  His favorite movie is Singing in the Rain and his favorite food, as cliché as it sounds, is pizza—specifically chicken bacon ranch pizza.

When asked about his job, A.J. said his favorite part is researching new and dynamic programs that could be implemented and expanded upon in the Camp Wyoming program.  He is always full of new and exciting ideas.

A.J.'s favorite Bible verse is 1 Timothy 4:12: "Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young.  But be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."

Ginger is the Hospitality Coordinator at Camp Wyoming and began her employment here on Valentine’s Day, 1994.  She enjoys the positive direction Camp Wyoming has been heading with the updating of buildings, camp’s online presence, and Kevin’s singing in the office.  Her favorite part of her job is the flexibility to do a variety of tasks.

Ginger grew up in Onslow, Iowa and graduated from Midland Community High School.  She serves as a volunteer EMT-B with the Midland Ambulance and  performs part-time duties as the City Clerk for Onslow.  She and her husband, Mark, live in Wyoming with their demanding dog Calliope Jane and their cats:  Oliver, Grace, George, and Wheezy.

Ginger enjoys lounging in the pool, home and garden projects, garage sales, and any chance she gets to hang out with her nieces and nephews.  Ginger is very passionate about animal welfare and is hopeful that “someday puppy mills and home breeders will no longer exist.”  She feels people need to be responsible and have their pets spayed or neutered.

Ginger's favorite Bible passage is Genesis 1:24-25: "And God said,' Let the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind: cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the earth of every kind.' And it was so.  God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps on the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good."
