Amanda Martin-Ethridge

Amanda is a freshman at Iowa State University where she is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. One day, she hopes to be a Christian therapist. When she’s not working hard studying, Amanda likes to find new Christian music to add to her playlist, read the Bible or a theology book, or write poetry! She became a Christian at age 16 and has found that her faith has only grown through the years. In fact, when you meet her, you should ask about the Bible study she started and led on TikTok! For Amanda, it is hard to pick just one favorite way to connect with God, but if she had to choose a top three, it would be writing poetry, praying, and worship.

This will be Amanda’s first summer at Camp Wyoming. She says, “I’m looking forward for the memories that will be made and sharing the goodness of God to children.” Amanda recently got connected to the idea of camp through her college ministry. She was able to go on the freshman retreat last fall. She says, “I got to make friends at the camp fire and worship with music with other people who love Jesus Christ. My favorite was that I got to worship the Lord through His creation of nature. It was all a fruitful adventure.” She’s so excited to be a part of creating that experience for kids at camp this summer.

Amanda has a big and fun personality. She loves any sour candy and claims that she can make just about anyone laugh. We can’t wait to see her in action here at camp!

Amanda’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:1: “But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'”
