Brian is a senior at Independence High School, and he has big dreams for his future. He plans to major in Aerospace Engineering, and while he doesn’t know exactly which college he is going to yet, he has already started applying and receiving admission decisions from several. Right now, he doesn’t think he’ll be going to college in Iowa. As you might have guessed from his choice of major, he has a fascination with outer space.
For the last nine summers, Brian has attended Camp Wyoming. Recently, Brian did Extreme Adventure where he got to go whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and camping in Wisconsin. One of his favorite activities at camp is the challenge course. He always had a blast at camp, and he can’t wait to take the next step and be on staff. He says he’s most looking forward to “meeting new people and being in the outdoors.” He connects with God best in a couple of different ways, Brian says he is “definitely a singing person.” He likes to sing, and praise God through song. He says, “I also connect through playing bass guitar for the praise band at my church.”
In his free time, Brian enjoys tennis, camping, theater, reading, and robotics. Brian hopes to share some of his Boy Scout outdoor skills with the Camp Wyoming community. He is also incredibly smart. He can solve a Rubik’s Cube. If you can as well, you’ll have to see if you can solve it faster! Brian can’t wait to be a part of the staff community and to share in the camp traditions all summer long.
Brian’s favorite Bible passage is Acts 2:46-47: “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
