Charlie Faden

Charlie describes his hobbies as “all things creative.” He has done quite a bit of theater, dancing, and singing. He played the cello when he was younger and recently started playing again. He also enjoys painting, drawing, sculpture, and most other design-y things. It’s no surprise then that Charlie is a Design Major at Iowa State University. He’s also a Dungeons and Dragons player. It’s something he used to love doing in the past and would love to do more of if given the opportunity. Another hobby Charlie has dabbled with lately is learning French. He took six years of classes and has been trying to learn more on his own. Maybe he’ll be able to teach you a few words!

Both Charlie and his brother grew up coming to camp together. If you look close enough, you’ll find his brother listed among our staff as well! Charlie says, “This summer will be my ninth summer at camp! I’ve been here as a camper seven times, volunteered the past two summers, and worked at Winter Camp! My favorite camp was probably Counselors In Training, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone who might want to work here (or at any other camp) in the future!”

Charlie connects best to God through nature, so camp is a great fit for him! Charlie says, “I love meeting new people! Both with my future campers and fellow staff, I’m excited for the opportunity to grow closer to God together.”

Charlie’s favorite Bible verse is Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
