Camp is a special place for so many people. For some, it was a place where they met the love of their life and eventually got married. Camp provides a setting where young people can be authentic. They are dirty from creekstomping, goofy with other camp people, or tired because of a late night in Night Owls camp. This authenticity helps us get to know each other well. Here are eight couples who met at camp and eventually got married.

Kevin and Karen Sindelar met in 1982 when they were counselors together on the Camp Wyoming staff. They continued to work together at camp in the 80s and 90s, filling roles  like Program Director and Environmentalist.

Lance and Karen Brisky met in 1994. Lance was volunteering that summer and Karen was on staff. They had the chance to work together on staff in 1995 and 1996.

Ben and Erin Landsee were Pioneer campers together in 1994. They were ages 11 and 12, respectively. They both worked on staff for 5 summers from 2000-2004.

Brandon and Annie Hanna first met sometime in middle school as campers. They then worked on staff together for three summers in 2000, 2001, and 2003.

John and Lisa Joslyn met at Wintertainment in 2003. They were never actually on staff together. Lisa worked during the 2006, 2007, and 2010 summers. John was on staff in 2004 and 2005.

AJ Plummer and Marta Peterman first met in 2004 when they worked on staff as counselors. They worked together for an additional 3 summers in 2005, 2008, and 2009.

Jay Miller and Cindy Enyart spent one summer together on staff in 2009.

Jake and Dawn O’Connor are the most recent camp marriage. They worked together in 2015 as counselors and then joined the 2016 staff, both in leadership roles.
