Hot! Hot! Hot!

It’s hard to believe that our first full day at camp this week is already coming to a close. It was very hot outside, but we found lots of ways to stay cool. Here is what we were up to today:

Explorer I
This group started their day with a Hike to Horsethief Cave for Bible study. It was nice and cool in the cave! After lunch, they went swimming, did challenge course, and did arts & crafts. Tonight they will cook out dinner over the campfire!

Explorer II
The Explorer II group did the challenge course this morning before cooling off in the creek and having fun on the mud slide! In the afternoon, they stayed cool on the slip ‘n slide, did SuperSoakers, went swimming, and had Bible study. They cook out dinner tonight over the fire!

Discovery
This group went kayaking, did arts & crafts, and did sling shots all in one morning! In the afternoon, they played a game with the Pirate campers, went swimming, and did Bible study.

Pirates
This group did arts & crafts, Bible study, and had a treasure hunt this morning. In the afternoon, they played a game with the Discovery campers, went swimming, and did slip ‘n slide and SuperSoakers.

Lewis Pioneers
The Lewis group did archery and explored Bobcat Cave this morning. After that, they went kayaking and played GaGa & 9-Square. In the afternoon, they went swimming, did arts & crafts, played sports, and had Bible study.

Clark Pioneers
The Clark group had Bible study this morning before going to do archery and explore Bobcat Cave. In the afternoon, they went swimming, did arts & crafts, and went kayaking.

Middlers
The Middlers started the day with arts & crafts before doing Bible study and cooking out lunch over the fire. In the afternoon they did the challenge course, sling shots, and went swimming.

Night Owls
The Night Owls did arts & crafts and challenge course this morning. After lunch, they did sling shots, had Bible study, and went swimming. Tonight, after everyone else’s day is over, they will have snack and do fire spinning.

Water Adventures
The Water Adventures group stayed cool this morning with a tubing trip on the Maquoketa River. In the afternoon, they did the challenge course, did arts & crafts, and went swimming.
