Based on the serious increase in COVID-19 cases and positivity rate in Iowa as well as the recent mandates made by the Governor, we are cancelling Wintertainment & Teen Bash. We understand this is disappointing news. We did not want to risk the health of campers and staff, especially as we enter the Christmas season.

For families that have already registered for either retreat, we will be refunding your fees.

We look forward to seeing you this summer and wish you an enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

It’s Camp Wyoming’s annual winter retreat!

Join us for an unforgettable winter experience. Go on a scavenger hunt, make crafts, and go sledding. Plus, participate in Bible study, enjoy hot chocolate and games, and compete in the Winter Olympics! Snow or no snow, we’re gearing up for fun, laughter, and friends at Wintertainment!

Camp Wyoming will be taking more health precautions at this retreat due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Precautions during camp will include encouraging and enforcing more hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, limiting group sizes, requiring masks in buildings, and more wiping down of doorknobs and common touch surfaces with antibacterial wipes. Camp Wyoming plans to be in constant communication with its camp nurses. We plan to send campers and staff home that have a high temperature. Even taking these and other extra precautions, campers will still be exposed to the risk of contracting the coronavirus or other illnesses. Ultimately, it is up to each individual family to decide as to whether Camp Wyoming is a viable option and/or mitigated risk they are willing to take. Please contact our main office with any questions or concerns that you might have.

To register, download the registration form and mail it and your retreat fee to the Camp Office at Camp Wyoming, 9106 42nd Ave., Wyoming, IA 52362 or click the button below to register online.

Health and Safety Precautions for COVID-19

Prior to Arrival at Camp

You must complete the Pre-Camp Health Screening for 10 days prior to the start of Wintertainment. Print this form, fill it out, and bring it with you to check-in. If you are unable to print the form, please email us at office@campwyoming.net and we will mail you a copy. Failure to complete and bring this form will mean that your camper cannot attend the retreat.

Check-in and Check-Out

Campers will be assigned staggered check-in times and must be dropped off within their assigned time frame. Parents will not leave the vehicle during check-in. The camper’s temperature will be taken before they enter camp. More specific information will be emailed to families upon registration.

Health Care

We will have a nurse present at this retreat. We will conduct a health and temperature check as campers arrive at check-in and before breakfast on Sunday.

If a camper presents with COVID-19 symptoms during the retreat, the camper will be isolated and the parents/guardians will be asked to pick their camper up immediately.

Group Safety

Campers will be in groups with a maximum of 12 kids and 2 counselors. Each group will be paired with one other group to make a “cohort.” Cohorts will not intermix with each other. Beds will be spaced 6 feet apart or have barriers between them, and air purifiers will be installed in our cabins. Everyone will be required to wear masks at all times while in buildings. Failure to properly wear a mask when asked will result in your camper being sent home.

Changes have been made to our dining hall procedures for this retreat. Meal times will be staggered to reduce the number of people in the dining hall at one time. All campers and staff will wash their hands before entering the dining hall for meals. Food will be served cafeteria style with our servers wearing masks and gloves. Meals for campers with food allergies will be pre-plated and distributed at the start of the meal. All campers and staff will use hand sanitizer before touching shared items on the table such as condiments. Camp staff will do all of the clean-up after each meal.
