Bachelor of Arts in Biblical & Theological Studies
Moody Bible Institute

Stacie is the Camp Director at Camp Bear Creek. She grew up in Dubuque, Iowa and attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated with degrees in Electronic Media Communications as well as Biblical & Theological Studies. During the summers while in college, she worked at Camp Bear Creek as a Counselor, Program Assistant, and Marketing Intern. In January 2013, she joined the camp staff full-time. Stacie says, “I never imagined camp ministry would be my career, but looking back, I can see how God was working in my life to bring me to this place.”

Stacie lives in Marion, Iowa and enjoys writing, exploring local coffee shops, reading, running, spending time with friends, and being outdoors (although not during the winter). Every summer, she tries to complete at least one triathlon or endurance race, which means that you’ll often find her swimming, biking, and running on a regular basis. Stacie loves paddling sports and has her own paddle board that she keeps in the trunk of her car, ensuring that she is always prepared in case an opportunity comes up to get out on the water. She enjoys a good adventure and seeks out trips like white water rafting, rock climbing, sky diving, parasailing, roller coasters, or other thrills. Coming from a family of bakers, Stacie definitely has a sweet tooth (especially when it comes to chocolate) although she is not much of a baker herself. She much prefers to appreciate what others make!

The part of her job that she enjoys the most is video production, specifically editing. She also likes writing curriculum and getting to know the summer staff and campers each year. You’ll often see her wandering around taking pictures and video of all the activities and events happening at camp. Stacie says, “I truly believe that camp ministry provides a unique setting for people to escape the ordinary and find God in new ways. I am so thankful for the chance to be a part of this community and this ministry.”

Stacie’s favorite Bible verse is Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
